I have a confession to make. I am constantly working on my appearance by trying out aesthetic procedures. In fact, this is one of the most asked questions I get on the blog and social media. What is the fountain of youth? What products really work? And are all the aesthetic procedures I try worth the investment? The short answer – YES! In fact, I have compiled a page listing all of the aesthetic procedures I have done so that you have a resource page. Now, let’s talk about what I have discovered. Check out how to restore facial volume with Sculptra Aesthetic. I’ve been seeing Dr. Lynley McAnalley at Highland Park Aesthetic Medicine.
I have had a series of six Sculptra Aesthetic injection sessions spread out over seven months. My first appointment with Dr. Lynley McAnalley at Highland Park Aesthetic Medicine was on July 29, 2019 and my last appointment was on March 2, 2020. Dr. McAnalley likes to built this product by layering it over numerous appointments. What is Sculptra and why do you use it? Let me explain.
Sculptra® Aesthetic is an FDA-approved aesthetic injectable that is intended to correct the signs of facial fat loss by restoring fullness to the face for a more natural appearance. When we are young, we have a plump face. As we age, our face thins out and becomes hollow. Plump = Youth. Get the picture?
Sculptra Aesthetic is injected below the surface of the skin into the areas of soft tissue loss. It is a sculpting agent that restores volume to correct the signs of facial fat loss by stimulating natural collagen production. It provides a gradual and significant increase in soft tissue and skin thickness improving the appearance of folds and sunken areas. Multiple treatment sessions may be required to attain the desired fullness. Most patients require 1-3 treatments approximately 3-6 weeks apart. Due to a partnership with Galderma, we decided to built up the effects by doing 6 treatments spread out over 7 months.
Dr. McAnalley tailors each treatment to meet a patient’s specific needs. Sculptra Aesthetic is most beneficial when injected into areas with significant volume loss. Though volume is lost diffusely throughout the face with age, some of the most beneficial areas to treat are the cheek hollows, temples, jawline, chin, and pre-auricular area. Collagen stimulation in these areas provides a tightening effect which helps restore a person’s youthful appearance. Sagging skin around the mouth and jawline can be tightened and accordion-like lines in the cheeks diminished.
The effects are long-lasting and have been shown in clinical studies to last up to 2 years after the first treatment in most patients. You can see a significant difference in the BEFORE/AFTER pictures below. My face is more plump and my jawline is more defined. Because Sculptra is NOT a filler, it takes time to get my own collagen stimulation into full effect. In fact, I am still not seeing the full effects of my treatments, especially the last one on March 2. What I love is that it is a gentle change – younger, not different. And that it will continue to improve the plumpness of my face.

For 30 years I always thought she looked young and beautiful anyway, but now, she looks even younger. Only downside that I see is that as she keeps looking younger, I’m going to have to look into adoption. 🙂
Get in here Pete Foster. Men do injectables too. 🙂
Pete-
You are the sweetest!

What is the cost?
Cost varies depending on a patient’s individual needs based on age, volume loss, goals, etc… Sculptra is priced by the vial and multiple vials are injected over time to achieve and maintain the results. I am happy to provide a complimentary consultation during which I can give you a very good idea of cost initially and over time.
Margie,
The cost can be discussed at your complimentary consultation. Costs vary depending on need.
