Sometimes I wonder why I blog about fashion because I am just like most people. I stand in my closet every day trying to figure out what to wear and how to pull something together that is new and innovative. So when I was asked to host a luncheon at the downtown, flagship Neiman Marcus store to preview the must-have spring 2015 fashion items, I immediately said YES! I love bringing people together and celebrating friendship. Do that over lunch and learn something new…no-brainer.
There is something so scrumptious and sophisticated about visiting the original, downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus store. Marjon and Franco hosted a lovely luncheon on the second floor glass house space while I invited friends from several spheres of my life. Members of Crystal Charity Ball, Cattle Baron’s Ball, fellow bloggers and beautiful friends joined me in previewing the must-have items for spring 2015. Additionally, we got a surprise visit from Hylton Lea, Vice President of Le Metier de Beaute who gave us the finer points of keeping the skin on you neck beautiful and young. Basically, we have all been doing this wrong. A follow-up blog post will come later with many more details. Trust me, you will want this information.
Here are the hot trends for spring 2015: 1) The colors are bold and in spice-market colors, 2) wear all white – head to toe, 3) big, bold jewelry, 4) mix don’t match your patterns (pick a common color to pull it all together), 5) the bucket bag is the hot handbag, 6) bohemian is in!
I have linked you to some of the items they showed us during our own, private style show. Here is my thought on things. While I might not style myself exactly like this (I am a minimalist, classic kind of gal) I do like learning how to incorporate some new trends in to my own wardrobe. My dear friend Nancy made a very good point that day. Take a picture of the outfit/item. If it does not photograph well, it most likely will not look good on you. That’s a great rule to follow.
A huge thank you to Jeff Byron, General Manager of Neiman Marcus downtown, Marjon, Franco, Hylton and Michael Flores of the Michael Flores Salon for making our day so special. Each one of my luncheon guests left with a gift certificate from the Michael Flores Salon (located on the 6th floor of Neiman Marcus) for a complimentary blow out. What a special treat!
I for one am excited to welcome spring (especially given the frozen tundra we are in today)! xoxo- Tanya
