Denim is a year-round staple that’s certainly worth investing in. Although denim is classic, it also evolves each season with the trends – from skinny to straight to flare jeans. Denim can even be spiced up with unique embellishments, colors, prints and differing lengths as the seasons change. So what is my favorite of this season’s denim trends you may ask…My personal favorite denim trend this year is flare jeans! I love flare jeans because they elongate the legs and instantly give you a retro 70s feel that reflects major style. So today I’m going to share everything you need to know about how to wear flare jeans.
How to Wear Flare Jeans
When shopping for your perfect flare jeans, be sure to aim for the right fit. It’s easy for flares to look particularly baggy and sloppy if you don’t get the correct fit for you. It can also be easy for flares to overpower a petite frame, so if that’s you I would suggest a cropped length like this or perhaps flares that are a bit straighter than most if needed. These flare jeans that I snatched up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are the perfect length and not overwhelming at all. They’re currently on sale and have a few sizes left, so grab them quick!
Denim will especially accentuate your legs well if you go for a high waisted pair like these. When my waist is more defined, I always feel and look better in my opinion. I would also recommend pairing your favorite flare jeans with high heels or booties like mine. This serves to better balance out the wide hem and prevent any dragging too. I have found that flares are easier to dress up and down than other styles as well. They seem to just have that extra sass! Whether you wear them casually or out to a party, aim to style flare denim with more tailored pieces on top. Balance is key!
What is your favorite denim trend for fall? xoxo – Tanya
P.S. I don’t want to leave today’s discussion without mentioning that it is 9/11. Please remember those who we lost and pray for their families. I still remember exactly where I was when it happened. Do you?
