Bluemercury M-61 product review, Tanya Foster

It’s no secret that I am constantly on the hunt for the latest and greatest products and procedures to keep my skin in tip-top shape. Recently, I have tried a few things that are really helping my skin glow and help protect it from the harsh winter months.

1.) I truly believe in getting facials. If you can get on a regular schedule, I suggest getting one monthly. Just think of it as a deep clean for your pores that endure so much with your daily make-up and products routine. My pick for best facial goes to The Swiss Spa – Gertrud of Switzerland. The woman does wonders! Her facials are relaxing and my skin feels super moisturized when I leave there. Gertrud is from Switzerland and you know how beautiful Swiss skin is. She uses Biodroga MD and Dr. Grandel products. We speak German when I am there so I feel a special connection to her. $95 per session or if you purchase 6 you get one FREE! 214.526.5607

2.) A good dermatologist will take your skin to the next level. If you have read this blog for a while you know my skin is in the trusted hands of Dr. Lori Stetler at the Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics. Just look at her milky white skin that glows. I’ll have what she is having! You can find past blog posts on Kybella, Cool Sculping, laser treatments and skin care products. Next month I am trying Thermage. Stay tuned…  214.631.7546

3.) Time at the spa. I love a relaxing day at the spa. Unfortunately, my busy schedule doesn’t permit me enough spa days to make up for all the stress in life. But occasionally I do completely disconnect and relax. My pick for best spa day goes to The Spa at The Joule Hotel. The spa is relaxing, clean, beautifully decorated and calming. I typically get the hot stone or swedish message for 80 minutes and Biologique signature facial which I have blogged about here. You can also get your manicure and pedicure while you are there and enjoy lunch. If you want to work out you can enjoy VITAL Fitness too. Of course leave plenty of time to relax in the pool, steam and dry sauna. Heck, just make a weekend of it and have a vacation at The Joule Hotel. Check out my staycation blog post here. 214.261.4555 (ask for the spa).

4.) A great peel. Dr. Lynley McAnalley at Highland Park Aesthetic Medicine has her finger on the pulse. She is a dear friend and I tend to go with what ever products she is trying. If you take one look at her you will know why. GORGEOUS! This is also where I get my botox injections. Her practice focuses on aesthetic injections so she is very precise with a needle. I have just recently tried ZO Medical (by Dr. Zein Obagi) and I am using their Advanced Radical Night Repair. It’s formulated with a 1% retinol concentration that targets UV-damaged, aged skin more effectively than any other anti-aging treatment. You use it two nights a week and it will give you a deep peel. Look at it this way, for any skin care products to do their job they need to get to your pores. That’s hard to do when your dead skin is sitting on top. 214.692.8844

5.) Daily skin care routine. I can’t say it enough. You have to have a good daily skin care routine that involves moving and night rituals. I wish I knew this when I was in my 20’s. I have been using the entire M-61 skin care line as my daily ritual. I get this at BlueMercury. There’s a blog post about it hereI use the following. Perfect Cleanse: A gentle foaming vitamin E gel cleanser with lavender and green tea. Fast Blast: A quick skin-brightening and exfoliating at home vitamin C facial mask with seaweed and aloe. I LOVE the way this feels and tightens my skin. SuperSoothe E Microdermabrasion Scrub: 1 Minute Vitamin E Facial Scrub & Mask. Quick skin-smoothing at home Vitamin E facial scrub and mask with kaolin clay, vitamin E, aloe, goldenberry, and seaweed. Power Glow Peel: A quick glycolic and salicylic acid exfoliating peel with vitamin K, bilberry and chamomile. Really tingly when you apply it – love it! Hydraboost Eye Cream: A peptide-packed hydrating and firming eye cream with vitamin B5, tamarind, soy, and white mulberry. PowerSpot: Overnight spot lotion with salicyclic acid, tea tree, witch hazel, cucumber, and aloe. It really works! SuperSoothe E Makeup Remover: Extra gentle eye & face makeup remover with vitamin E, aloe, goldenberry, and seaweed. SuperSoothe E Peppermint Lip Balm: The most natural lip balm that the whole family can use. It can be used alone or underneath lip color products.
