Happy Hump Day! I cannot believe we are already in the thick of the holiday season. With the holidays comes a much busier schedule with potential for more stress and unhealthy eating. Before everything really ramps up, let’s look at 5 ways to stay healthy over the holidays. Let’s all try and be better about being mindful of our health this year, so we can enter the new year refreshed rather than burned out. Plus, how cute is this sport collection from Tuckernuck!
5 Ways to Stay Healthy Over the Holidays
1. Stay Active
Ok, I know this seems obvious, but it is really true. At the bare minimum, move your body every day for at least 30 minutes. No time for that? Create little 10 min workout breaks throughout your day. And let’s be real, the main way to stay healthy is not just a workout at the gym, but all of the movement you do in between a workout. Whether it be stretching while watching TV, cleaning the house, dancing in the kitchen, it’s all keeping you healthy and fit. One of the easiest ways that I incorporate daily movement is to just get outside and walk. The fresh air and vitamin D completely change my mood. If you need motivation, invest in a cute workout look, like the one I’m wearing above. I wear a size M in these hydrangea high-rise compression leggings, sports bra, and funnel pullover from the TNuck Sport Collection. Shop more workout looks HERE.
2. Maintain a Healthy Diet
The other thing to keep in mind is “you are what you eat.” It can become so hard during the holidays to maintain a healthy diet. We all want to indulge in the rich food, sweets and alcohol, but it’s not an everyday healthy diet. I still abide by my Keto lifestyle as much as possible during the holidays and it really helps. If you spend your entire week eating healthy and indulge a bit at the parties, you will still stay fit and healthy. Also, don’t forget to drink water!!! Hydration is key to health. Drink a glass of water between every drink you have this holiday season and you will see a difference.
3. Practice Self-Care
This is one of the most important ways to stay healthy over the holidays. I wish I could tell you exactly what you need to do, but it is different for each person. Whether it be reading a book, taking a bath with bath salts, doing a face mask, mediation, journaling; it is all so beneficial for your emotional and mental health. We all need time to relax and breathe between all of our commitments.
4. Learn to Say No
I know this is hard for some of us, but the art of saying no will save you a lot of stress and keep you healthy! When you over-commit, you can’t even enjoy anything you’re doing. Learn to say yes to the things that are worth your time and no to the rest. You will have a much more enjoyable and healthy holiday!
5. Take Your Vitamins
Whether you take vitamin supplements or eat vitamin-rich food, you need your daily intake of vitamins to stay healthy. I take a variety of vitamins and supplements to keep me healthy and to maintain my weight, especially during the holidays. Read about all of the vitamins and supplements that I take to maintain a healthy lifestyle HERE.
Another way to reduce my stress this year is to do my holiday shopping early. Be sure and utilize all of my holiday gift guides to help you shop HERE. What are you doing to stay healthy during November and December? I’ve rounded up a few items below that might help.

Such good tips! I really want to reach my goal weight this year! I am always more successful when I plan my meals in advance!
I was just having this conversation with another client today, planning is EVERYTHING when it comes to hitting those weight loss goals. Once you have that down, everything else falls into place so much easier. I’m completely obsessed with the “Organize your Gorgeous Chaos” day planner! It’s where I schedule my workouts, my meals, my grocery shopping days, everything. Just curious, would you mind sharing what your biggest struggle is when it comes to reaching your goal weight? I’d love to see if I can give any more specific tips to help.
Great tips, Tanya! I love these. So practical, and yet we need to be reminded. I’m especially going to work at just moving at least 30 minutes each day. As a blogger I tend to spend so much time at my desk. The days I exercise, I get in a 45-60 minute workout. But the days I don’t workout, I fail to move at all sometimes! You’ve inspired me to take the 30 minute challenge!
Yey!! I love seeing this! I may turn the 30 minute challenge into a full, online challenge group with some free coaching. If you’d like to be updated if I set this up, just let me know 🙂
Great tips! It is a constant battle, especially when we eat out so often! Do you take the Olly Vibrant Skin and the Glotrition?
Love these tip! I really need to work on increasing the hours of sleep I get each night. I know that it will benefit my overall wellness, but I never make it a priority. Thanks for the reminder!
Great tips. I work at a computer most of the day but make sure I get in at least 30 minutes of exercise. My eating habits are good and I’ve always done meal planning. I try to cook at home every night, which makes a big difference. Thanks for reminding us of all the good things we should do.
Great tips. I will try my best to get 8 hours of sleep, thanks for this 10 Weight Loss Tips, this will be really helpful.
Thank you – just what I was looking for.
Amber-

Julie –
That is so great! I remember being at Disney World and easily getting in 10,000 daily. Those were the days…

Hello, Your post is very inspiring to me. And your information about tips tricks for at-home workouts is very amzing and so much helpful for me. Keep it up and Thank you very much.:)
Good advice that can work for everyone. The most important thing is to come up with a clear plan that can work for you.
And it’s definitely key to share your vegan meal, otherwise people will see you as a weirdo and wouldn’t even be open to being vegan themselves because if they did go vegan, they would’ve be that one “weirdo” who has to bring their own food and eat alone, away from others. So, why not share, let them see what delicious & healthy dishes that are plant-based are all about. Sometimes, that’s what some people need to be willing to make that transition to veganism or to spark up the idea of trying out eating plant-based.Cheers!
