In search of perfectly proportionate plump lips. photo credit: Pinterest
Numbing cream is applied to all areas that will be treated. This takes about 30 minutes to completely numb your face.
Dr. Lori Stetler injects the Vollure and Volbella to plump lips and erase the signs of aging. I didn’t feel anything.
Before and After pictures taken at Dallas Center for Dermatology (2 weeks in between)
Life is a series of maintenance appointments isn’t it? In fact, I’ve got an entire blog post in the works coming soon about that topic. Today I’m going to share with you how Dr. Lori Stetler used Vollure and Volbella to plump my lips and erase the signs of aging. Check out the before and after pictures from Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics to see the difference.
I have often said that having a good dermatologist is a must. I’ve been seeing Dr. Lori Stetler at Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics for over 20 years (she is the dermatologist for my entire family). Her staff is incredible and in addition to having Dr. Kristel Polder, they have just added a third doctor to the practice – Dr. Jill Feetham. All three are board certified dermatologists and have an incredible staff as well. You’ve seen may aesthetic procedures on here including Thermage before and after, Kybella, Microblading, CoolSculpting and more. They even discovered my skin cancer which is detailed in this blog post.
One of the signs of aging is thinning lips and lines that develop on your faces and around your mouth. Guess what ladies? Drinking with a straw often contributes to this. UGH! I also hate how your lipstick starts to “bleed” into these small lines outside your lips. To counteract the superficial vertical lines, Dr. Stetler used a combination of Vollure in the folds and corners of my mouth as well as Volbella (combined with Vollure) in the vertical lines above my lip (and to plump my lips). I want to mention that none of the procedures I do at Dallas Center of Dermatology and Aesthetics are permanent. Fillers, peels, laser treatments and injectables are all ways to combat aging while improving your skin. Most of them last around a year to 18 months. I always want to look natural, not overdone and this dermatology office prides themselves on “natural, yet better”.
Let me be very clear about why I do these procedures – to combat aging gracefully while not making huge changes. Did you know that your top lip should never be bigger than your bottom lip? Ever seen someone who obviously had way too much injection work done? That’s why I only do these type of treatments with a board certified dermatologist who knows the product well. There is no down time to these two injectable fillers however you will leave with an ice pack for your lips (slight swelling).
I look at it as a way to prolong my youthful look while staving off plastic surgery as long as I can. Are you interested in these type of procedures? I encourage you to make an appointment with the doctors at the Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics to see what treatments are right for you.
Why age gracefully? Fight it all the way and do something about it! xoxo- Tanya
P.S. Yes, I see the discoloration in my skin and I am working on that too. I just had SkinPen done and will report back soon.
About VOLBELLA: VOLBELLA is a hyaluronic acid-based filler developed specifically for the lips and the area around the mouth. JUVÉDERM’s hyaluronic acid (HA) products are known for their soft gel formulation. HA occurs naturally in the body, which means that the body readily accepts it when administered as an injection. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC differs slightly from other dermal fillers in that it has a lower concentration of HA. This unique formulation makes it best for adding subtle volume to the lips and gently smoothing the lines around the mouth. It smooths the surface of the lips, giving them fullness and shine, similar to lip gloss.
About VOLLURE: Patients at our Dallas practice can now choose JUVÉDERM VOLLURE XC to treat deep “smile lines” that frame the mouth and nasolabial folds. Clinical trials showed the results of this minimally invasive treatment can last up to 18 months, although patient experiences may vary. Before the FDA approved VOLLURE, treatment for nasolabial folds and other moderate or severe wrinkles typically lasted only a year. VOLLURE balances the gel’s firmness and its low cohesiveness, making it an ideal choice for restoring volume in the nasolabial folds and other deeper wrinkles. Even though other hyaluronic acid fillers can treat these concerns, VOLLURE is the first approved by the FDA that lasts up to 18 months.

Great post and totally agree! Coolsculpting is next!
Oh, I’ve done Coolsculpting too. Be sure to check out several blog posts on that by putting “coolsculpting” in the search bar.

Tanya didn’t you have your lips done about 2 years ago, am wondering how long the fillers last.
I see you’re squeezing tennis balls even with numbing how much does it hurt?
Vertical lines are my bugaboo
Am thinking of doing thermage for face and neck. Not sure kybella will help me my issue is loose skin under chin
Thanks for all your info on this really appreciate it
Kris,
Yes, I have done my lips before. As the blog post says, these fillers last about 1 year. So my lips (before pic) have absolutely nothing left in them. I was overdue!
Yes, I am squeezing the “stress balls” mainly to distract me. I didn’t feel any pain but you do get the sensation of a tug when the needle is injecting. The numbing cream really does work.
Did you check out my before and after pics on the Thermage blog posts? HUGE difference. I LOVE the results.
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
Your lips look great! Just the perfect amount. Good job Dr Stetler!
Lisa,
You’re the sweetest. And you saw them the very next day when they were a little swollen.
Kiss, kiss!
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
Perfect lips. I’m headed there tomorrow!
Jill-
Isn’t Dr. Stetler and her entire practice the BEST?
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
Thank you everyone for the nice comments! Tanya is a pretty palette. My goal is natural, not overdone.
Hello! Just moved to Dallas and found your site and I am really enjoying it! I am looking for a new injector – Do you use Dr. Stetler for Botox as well?
