I’ve definitely mentioned more than once that I love cute shirt dresses! They are just so easy, versatile and classic. I think we all can appreciate a simple work to weekend option that’s polished with both structure and femininity. Shirt dresses are light and loose, so they will conceal any problem areas for you. Or if you want to define your waist, try a belted shirt dress like mine (similar here). So why are shirt dresses so great? Let me tell you!
One reason I am obsessed with cute shirt dresses is because of their versatility. There’s many ways you can wear a shirt dress, as you can see in the photos above. I wore this navy dress with loafers, which is great for a work meeting or lunch. Then I transitioned into my favorite espadrille wedges and bamboo bag for a fun Spring/Summertime look. It would be a great outfit to wear to a BBQ on the Fourth coming up soon. You could even wear some comfy sandals or fashion sneakers to run errands in your shirt dress. They can be easily dressed up or down.
You can also wear cute shirt dresses in a more modern way. It looks so stylish to wear them buttoned up half way (at the top) with a pair of straight or skinny jeans. For example, see this previous post from 2017 when I styled a different shirt dress like a jacket. If I do say so myself, it looked fabulous and fresh! Or even wear your shirt dress robe-style like an open kimono over a basic tee and jeans. A last tip that I incorporated in this previous outfit (now on sale) is to add a belt, which will add more shape to your figure.
Cute shirt dresses are a wardrobe staple. Shop my faves below! How would you style a shirt dress? Do you like to wear flats or heels with yours? You know I love my heels!
