Unless you live under a rock, you know what the Sundance Film Festival is. But have you ever thought of traveling to Park City, Utah and attending? You should. This was my seventh festival to attend and it just keeps getting better. Let me guide you through the experience.

Hop a plane to Salt Lake City, drive a quick 45 minutes up to Park City Utah and stay at one of the many hotels in the quint little ski town. This site will help you with accommodations and great dining reservations. The Sundance Film Festival headquarters is set up in the Marriott Hotel. There you will find the main festival store with great t-shirts, hoodies and much more. You will also pick up your tickets and passes here. Be sure to register early on the Sundance site for 2017. Passes and tickets sell out quickly. The dates are January 19-29, 2017.

My favorite restaurants in Park City are Riverhorse, Zoom, Wahso, Bangkok Thai and Davanza’s. There’s lots to do in this beautiful town so be sure to check out the ski opportunities, snow mobiles, dog sleds and more. For me, it’s all about the great films. This year I saw 12 films with my favorites being The Birth of a Nation, Manchester by the Sea and a terrific little foreign film, The Lure. For a list of the 2016 award winners click here. And be sure to see these film when they come out later this year. I can assure you that The Birth of a Nation will garner 2017 Oscar buzz!

All you need to pack are great casual clothes, warm jackets and water proof boots. I found all of mine at Saint Bernard. They have fantastic selections for men and women as well as terrific sales. I’ve linked a lot of items below. All great for a film festival in the mountains or a ski trip.

I loved my week with my fellow cinephiles Ruth M, James F, Sarah H, John W, Braden F. and more. And a huge congratulations to our friend Jason Berman, producer of The Birth of a Nation!

Join me next year, won’t you?  xoxo- Tanya
