Earlier this month Pete and I traveled to Vero Beach, Florida for a quick getaway. This beach town was so charming and evokes a casual style. Here are my recommendations if you head to this beautiful destination to put your toes in the sand.

Travel: Vero Beach is situated on the east coast of Florida just a short hour and a half drive south from Orlando. There are many non-stop flights daily to Orlando so getting there is easy. This quaint little town has a population of 15,000. Folks here are active and you will see people jogging and walking their dog daily. The temperatures are mild during the day and a bit chilly at night.

Stay: The Vero Beach Hotel & Spa is beautiful, right on the beach and served as the location for all of my beach pictures. If you look at this post, you can see how pristine the white sand is. The hotel staff is lovely and the property has two restaurants, Cobalt and Heaton’s Reef, both delightful. We had Sunday brunch outside and soaked up the Florida sunshine while enjoying the sound of ocean waves. The spa offers everything you need to relax while being pampered. Today’s photos are taken by their pool.

Eat: Cobbs Landing in Fort Pierce for dinner. Just a short drive south on the A1 and their crab cakes are worth it. Be sure to head to The Lemon Tree for breakfast. Go early because the wait can take a while. It was scrumptious and the breakfast menu is served all day.

Cheat: You must grab homemade ice cream at Cravings. Delicious and creamy! They have a full menu too.

Pack: Lots of shorts, flip flops, swimsuits & cover-ups and casual clothes. Vero Beach has a casual vibe. Refer to this packing list for details. And don’t forget your sunblock and a hat!

I highly recommend this great spot for a little getaway. It was from here that we traveled to Kennedy Space Center for a quick day trip (as seen in this blog post). The sightseeing is endless!

Happy travels!  xoxo- Tanya
