I don’t have lash extensions. I grow them with NeuLash (not pictured) and it really works. Apply every night before you go to bed. I do use a lash primer and volumizing mascara to create long lashes every day.
Use a neutral shade with a slight glimmer all over your eyelid. Use the lightest color neutral on your brow bone to highlight. Before you put any eye shadow on, prime your lids with Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It will help your shadow “set” and stay on all day.
Pick a darker shade to use on the outside of your eye and in the crease. Use a dark pencil to line underneath your eye and one top outside edges of your lash line. See last picture for final dramatic eye look.
The YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch is the BEST concealer on the market in my opinion. I have one in my make-up drawer and one in my purse. I love it because you can reapply it throughout the day and it layers well (doesn’t cake on). It instantly refreshes your face. I use color #2.
Simply apply 3 dots under each eye and dab it in with your finger. Don’t rub.
I always use a setting spray when I am completely done applying my make-up. Especially on photo shoot or TV segment tape days.
I get asked this question a lot so I thought I would do a blog post on it. Today I am showing you a few easy steps to create a dramatic eye. It’s so easy and you will be able to create this the first time you try.
I’ve done a blog post on how to contour and create a neutral make up look and my daily make-up routine. You can still refer to those for more tips and product suggestions. I am constantly trying new products from PR packages I receive and when I find something I really like, I make sure to share it here. I’m not going to talk about my skincare routine in this blog post. You can find that in this one (again, I try lots of different products and change this up occasionally).
I’ve tried lash extensions and they just don’t work for me. I loved the beautiful result but I can’t lay still enough to have them put on or replenished. Instead, I focus on growing my own and using products to create a long, lush lash. I use NeuLash every night and it really works. But you have to use it every night for your lashes to continue to grow. I also use a lash primer and then one coat of mascara. That’s it! I know this is going to sound weird…I start my daily make-up routine with my lashes. That’s because I have deep-set eyes and if I wait until the end, my mascara ends up all over my eye shadow and underneath my eyes. And then its just a mess.
All you need to create a dramatic eye: Urban Decay Naked palette (I use 3 colors), eye pencil, lash primer, mascara, YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch and Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brow Gel (its like mascara for your eye brows). That’s really it – so simple. The pictures are in order from top to bottom of how I achieve this look. I tend to do this for a luncheon event or an evening out. It’s more of the neutral make-up look on a daily basis and on weekends I try to let my skin breath and just put on moisturizer and my daily SPF 50!
Do you have any favorite brands/products that are tried and true? Leave me a comment because I am sending out some care packages with lots of make-up goodies to a few lucky winners. Good Luck! 🙂

I love reading about makeup routines. I especially like how you do the eye pencil. I struggle with getting it to lift up at the corners of the eye.
Do you prefer the YSL concealer over the Shape Tape that I hear so much about?
Kathy-
I have not tried the Shape Tape concealer but I might get it to compare. I absolutely love the YSL product and think its a game changer!

Love this post! I have recently started using the Lancome Grandiose Extreme mascara and I love it. Give length and volume without clumping. It is well worth trying!
Kelley-
That is a GREAT mascara and I have it in my make-up drawer as well.
Thanks for the reminder!

I’ve started using Lash Boost from Rodan & Fields, amazing results. Just maintaining now with every other day application. Also a long-time fan of Lancome Cils Booster lash primer and their mascaras. Their new Grandiose Extreme is a thinner formula so use three coats. Concealer tip learned from a TV makeup artist – apply in an upside down triangle (from corners of eye down toward the tip of the nose and up to the inner eye) and blend in. Game changer application for me!
All very good tips and products. Thanks for you for sharing!

Just wanted to post that I have tried a million makeup removers and I prefer Clarins Instant Eye Makeup remover. Some are too greasy and some are not strong enough and this product is just right!
Donna,
That’s good to know. I’ve never tried that one as I use Lancome and Charlotte Tilbury. I’ll have to give that one a try.

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions! I also use Lancome Grandiose Extreme mascara and love it.
Very helpful and love the Naked palette! Thanks for this post!
