Arrival day in Paris. This is what I wore on the plane. We freshened up for lunch and then explored the neighborhood to stay awake.
About to embark on the Louvre Museum.
Visiting Montmartre on day one of our trip.
Our apartment in St. Germain through One Fine Stay. Coffee anyone? I love this Eliza J dress.
Exploring the neighborhood. This was my warmest coat and I wore it a lot at night.
Visiting the Musee d’Orsay. This was my favorite museum!
Crossing the street in St. Germain. Thank goodness there wasn’t a lot of traffic because I had to do this several times for Pete to catch it in the shot.
This is the day we visited the Palais Royal. You first saw this look in this blog post.
This is one the bridges over the Seine River. Just two blocks from our apartment on the left bank. It was first seen in this blog post.
Our day visiting Versailles. I can’t say enough about this beautiful Palace!
Happy Wednesday! Today I am going to show you can make numerous outfits with a few key pieces in your closet. This will allow you to maximize your winter wardrobe. Because its dang chilly out there and its time to bundle up!
These pictures are from our recent trip to Paris, France and while I packed all this for cold weather there, I am still wearing it here. Truth is, these few key pieces will help you wardrobe numerous outfits. There are a few fashion tricks that really help. A pair of Hunter Boots will serve as a tall boot as well as a rain boot. I own them in red and blue. I also have the boot liners/socks in black and ivory. Great coats are both warm and fashion pieces helping you pull a look together easily. There are numerous ones on the Neiman Marcus LAST CALL sale including this black wrap one I love.
And yes, I know I am having a bad hair day most of this trip. My hair does not cooperate in Europe and always feels dry and frizzy. Anyone have a solution to that? I finally just gave up and started pulling it in to a low ponytail. Ugh!
Lastly, THANK YOU to everyone who left comments on yesterdays blog post to join me at the advance screening of PHANTOM THREAD. We are way over subscribed and full! If you received a confirmation e-mail you are good to go. If not, unfortunately we are completely full. I’m so sorry about this. However, I plan to do more advance film screenings and should have another good one to tell you about very soon. Learning lesson: Read the blog post first thing in the morning and reply immediately!
Anyone else confused about what day it is? xoxo- Tanya
P.S. Congratulations to KRIS BETTS! She won the 5th Surprise Box in the December giveaways.

Boy you pack a lot more than I do for Paris! I usually pack 2 prs of jeans, one black one dark, a black and navy pullover sweater, a couple tee shirts for layering, a black knit dress, pair of sneakers, pair of dressy black flats. I pack a navy puffer carcoat length. I pack a very dressy black small cross body bag. The key is one good scarf, belt, earring. Most Parisian women wear immaculate pressed dark denim with a white shirt or tee with a dark jacket and a great shoe very little makeup, simple hair. I pull my hair back, Parisian women aren’t big into blow drys. Actually the way you stand out as an American is our hair, great teeth, and dress! I leave expensive jewelry and Hermes bag at home. Too many pickpockets especially on the metro and museums
I agree, Kris. I had to lug the two “steamer” sized suitcases around along with my (regular-sized) carry-on. But, it made for being able to shoot different looks all over Paris. Got particularly troublesome going up to the flat where we stayed :-(. Thank gosh for the lift! But there wasn’t enough room for both people and luggage, so…we had to run up to the 3rd floor to recover the baggage after we launched the lift. First time I almost had a heart attack…I forgot the European way to count the lobby as 0. So had to run up 4 floors after the lift passed my by on 2 (3rd floor in US).
WOW Kris!
This is all excellent. Thanks for sharing!
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
BTW…I thought your hair was fine.
I like the fresh design ideas that you have put up out here… but how much can you do with the simple & humble women tank? I have seen some of the best women’s accessories/women’s tanks I’ve seen at ObeyClothing.com. I’ll be buying all the colors when I have some extra cash.
