Well hello lovelies! Yes, we are going to talk about robes and towels today. But before we do, I want to thank everyone who came out last night for the private advance screening of Isn’t It Romantic. I recently updated all of our bath towels int he master bathroom. Ours were old and getting tattered. I surveyed my followers on Instagram Stories and the brand Matouk kept coming up. I’ve never ordered from them but I trust my peeps and just went for it. Fortunately, I found them on SALE! And the site I ordered mine on also took care of the monogramming – it was only $3 per towel which is a bargain. When I take things to the local embroidery store, I promise you it’s like $18 per item. When I order new towels for any bathroom I break it down like this: 4 bath towels, 6 hand towels, 4 wash cloths, 1 tub mat (I don’t like bath rugs). Everything but the wash cloths get monogrammed. I like a monochromatic look so I order white towels with white stitching (they come in many colors). Clean and simple! I am very happy with our new towels and highly recommend them. As soon as I got them, I washed them in the washer and dried them WITHOUT adding fabric softener or a dryer sheet. This is the quickest way to get your towels to be more absorbent. By the way, Matouk also has lovely luxury linens.
Taylor discovered the source of luxury robes that the Ritz Carlton Dallas has in its spa. A lot of spas have this brand. Ever notice that when you check into a spa for a facial, message or any kind of treatment, you just want to relax in the robe all day long? Why not buy that robe and have it at home. So, we decided that everyone in the family deserved that feeling! I ordered white robes for everyone and took them to a local embroidery shop to have them monogrammed. This time I chose a light grey thread for the monogram, still keeping is nice and clean. The robe comes in several colors if you don’t like white. It has an oversized fit and has shoulder pads. I have it in size Medium. I’m telling you, you will want to live in this robe! You first saw it on the blog in this blog post.

Laundry tip. NEVER use fabric softener or dryer sheets on towels. The film coats the towels and reduces absorbency. Use instead wool dryer balls. Layer balls in between wet towels. The lanolin in the wool softens and adds LOFT to the fabric and speeds up drying.
I say never use commercial laundry detergent fabric softener and dryer sheets for any laundry. Go use laundry SOAP and dryer balls. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the superior result. Popular brands are Beekman 1802 and Nellies.
