There is no doubt that at this age it takes a lot of upkeep just to look presentable. Hair, skin, health, it’s all important. I wish I would have taken better care of my skin in my teenage years and 20’s. The good news is that I have a bevy of people and resources to make the best of what I have. Today, I am sharing all of my little secrets with you and hope that you can benefit from them too. Consider this “Tanya’s Best of Dallas” list as your resource guide.
Dr. Lori Stetler and her team at Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics have been my dermatologist for twenty years. Her aesthetician, Charlene Wilson, is who I see for peels and laser treatments. My entire family visits their practice for dermatology. Jennifer Scheiderich, P.A. is the kids favorite staff person. I am currently seeing them for Cool Sculpting and will share my before and after pictures with you when I am done. I am also trying a new product – Teoxane serum. More details in a follow-up post. I see them for anything skin related including age spots and anti aging treatments. They are on the cutting edge of new treatments and products. 214.631.7546
I just had the most amazing reflexology and massage combo at Massage Felax. They specialize in this combo and I will definitely return for more. The facility offers all the regular massage options but the Felax Signature Combo is their special. You get a 40 minute foot rejuvenator + your favorite 30 minute massage. All for $89. If you choose to have a full 60 minute massage it is $115 (and well worth it). Owner Amy Holt studied in America and China and specializes in deep tissue and a shiatsu massage. Give them a ring. They are offering Mother’s Day Specials. I visit the Park Cities location (they have 4 locations). 214.363.3529
If you know me well you know that I suffer from migraine headaches. I have just started acupuncture at Healing Response to see if this will give me some relief. Amy Moll did a full assessment and is treating me with acupuncture and chinese herbal medicine. Apparently, I need more circulation and blood flow to my head. Go figure! Give them a ring. 214.617.2595
I just tried this little med spa in the Plaza at Preston Center about a month ago and I really liked it. Hanna Isul is the skin goddess to many celebrities. In fact, when you walk in you will see a lot of signed pictures on the wall. I had the Cleansing Repair Therapy facial and they added a mask made with volcanic ash. My face felt like a babies butt when I left. Really refreshing treatments offered here. 214.361.6500
Dr. Lynley K. McAnally at Highland Park Aesthetic Medicine is a long time friend and I have seen her for years. She does all of my injectable/fillers. That includes botox and most recently voluma which I detailed here in this blog post with pictures. As I say, be sure to look at your doctors and see if they practice what they preach. In this case, she does. She only does injectables and that is why she is so skilled and precise with the needle. 214.692.8844
There is just something about a beautiful man doing your hair. Michael Flores at the Michael Flores Salon is that man in my life. He is responsible for my color and special hair styles like this one in this blog post. That ponytail got more notice than anything else that night. And now his salon is caring the line of pop in hair extensions too. Added bonus: It’s on the 6th floor of the downtown Neiman Marcus store. Perfect, because I am always up for lunch at the Zodiac Room and/or grabbing some lipstick on my way out the door. 214.573.2626
Whew! There you have it. I am happy to share anything else with you that you want to know. After all, I blog and my life is an open book. Do you have a great resource that you would like to share? Please let me know and leave me a comment.
Have a great day! xoxo- Tanya
