There’s only so much Netflix and Instagram that we can endure when we’re bored at home. Social media has become a place for discord and grumpy comments. Everyone please take a deep breath. I have comprised a list of five things that I have found to be enjoyable and pass the time while stuck at home. And guess what? They’re all screen-free! You should also check out my tips to survive the homebody lifestyle. Between these activities and tips, you can get through any boredom with ease. I hope!

5 Things To Do At Home During Quarantine
1. Learn to Garden
I just completed my spring gardening for the year and learned to plant my first herb garden! It was so relaxing and fun. It is rewarding to be able to sit in my backyard and enjoy the flowers while stuck at home. In fact, I have my morning coffee on the back porch to enjoy them. I created a video about how to do this here.If you are in Dallas, Nicholson-Hardie is doing curbside pick-up or you can have your order delivered. You can order this Lechuza planter box online. It’s what I used to make the herb garden.
2. Perfect Your Skin
This is a great time to give your skin the rejuvenation is need. I have been trying different at-home beauty treatments, and I found that Glo Skin Beauty treatments are the best. Read more about all of their products and the company here. It feels like you are at a spa! Just light some candles and play some relaxing music and you won’t even know the difference. Below are some excellent choices.
3. Listen to a Podcast
Podcasts are really entertaining and typically informative. I love to put on a podcast and take a walk outside. It is a great way to pass the time, plus enjoy nature. Before you know it, 30-45 minutes have passed and you’ve walked your 10,000 steps for the day. I love listening to my dear friend, The Curious Cowgirl Podcast. If you listen to her episode on Tiger King, you may hear a familiar voice ;). Also, if you are a Bachelor fan you should check out The Ben and Ashley: Almost Famous podcast. If you want a good laugh I highly recommend Heather McMahan’s Absolutely Not podcast. Stuff You Should Know podcast is great if you want to learn new stories and facts you’ve always been curious about. Also, I recently just discovered Tuesday Club podcast. It’s co-hosted by one of the actors who is on Outlander.
4. Try a New Recipe
When you are bored at home, it is definitely a great time to try out that new recipe you were eyeing. When you have more time, you can try out that more time-intensive recipe that is impossible to fit into your regular busy schedule. You might even learn a new cooking technique! It is enjoyable and the results are always tasty. I get a lot of Keto recipes from Keto Connect and Savory Tooth. I’ve noticed a little weight gain during quarantine so I am getting back on my Keto app and holding myself accountable!
5. Give Yourself a Manicure
And by manicure, I don’t just mean painting your nails. Giving yourself a manicure (almost) as good as the experts is totally doable from your home. I created a tutorial video and step-by-step process on how to remove your dip/gel polish. I have never been more appreciative of my nail salon and can’t wait for it to open again! I’ll have a complete blog post on this next week which involves removing your dip or gel polish and then giving yourself a manicure. Stay tuned…

Tell me what you are doing all day long to get through quarantine? I need some inspiration. xoxo – Tanya
Thank you for this post, Tanya. The gardening has saved me. I have several large steel beds that i use for planting food. I’m growing arugula, celery, swiss chard, strawberries and a ton of herbs. It has really come in handy with amount of times to the grocery store. Nothing like getting your hands in the dirt and eating fresh organic!
Julie,
I love hearing about your amazing garden! You are right, there is nothing like getting your hands in the dirt!
Enjoy-
