Today’s the day! I’m introducing you to my summer intern and assistant Victoria A. She has been so helpful to me since she arrived at the end of May. What will she be doing? Lots of things here and there. Especially in the month of July with the upcoming Nordstrom NSale. Let’s talk strategy about this major SALE!
Victoria A. will be a senior at Baylor University this fall and is a fashion merchandising major. The real reason she is in Dallas is that she is completing her summer internship at Stanley Korshak. During this time she is living in our back house and assisting me when she has free days. She is originally from Orange County, California but came to Texas for college. Victoria is dating one of P.J.’s fraternity brothers and that’s how we connected. I’ve had several other girls live in the back house during their internships and we love having them.
She is helping with store pick-ups, running errands, content strategy and she even went to a design meeting with me. Pretty soon, you will see some blog posts from her. She’s currently reviewing some beauty products for me because I get bombarded with shipments daily. This will give you all a different perspective as well. She is in her early 20’s and can tell us what the millennials need/want.
On this day, we met for coffee at one of my regular spots – Royal Blue Grocery. Since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (otherwise known as the NSale) is coming up, we talked sales strategy. You can’t just go into it hoping for the best. The good stuff goes quickly so having a plan is key! Not familiar with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? The NSale is so exciting, mainly because the items on sale are new arrivals for fall. It’s the perfect time to stock up on pieces for the coming season as well as timeless, year-round wardrobe staples like denim, handbags, and more. Below we have outlined some key dates for you to mark on your calendar NOW.
Important dates of the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
NOW – Apply to get a Nordstrom credit or debit card. You will get a $20 bonus Note (to spend at Nordstrom) just for applying. You don’t have to use the Nordstrom card, but you must have one to get EARLY ACCESS to the NSALE! Click here to get started.
July 13 – If you’re a Nordstrom Cardholder, early access for the sale begins on the Thursday, July 13th. Set your alarm and shop early that morning! You have five days to shop Early Access as a card holder, so take advantage of this time before it opens to the public. All the good stuff goes quickly. I pull an all nighter to get the blog post ready for you.
July 21 – The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public on Friday, July 21st. If you are not a card holder, now’s your chance to shop this incredible sale.
August 6 – This is the final day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Since people shop the NSale throughout the entire 2-3 weeks, you might find some great items at the end too (due to returns). The sale ends on Sunday, August 6th.
Things to purchase during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:
Stock up on basics, outer wear, beauty items, back to school clothes if you have children, shop in the mens department for the man in your life, handbags, denim trends, get some pajamas and a new robe. The list goes on and on. I’ll help you through it with several dedicated blog posts about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ll also have a new tab at the top of my blog (navigation bar) that will be dedicated to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The first blog post will publish on Thursday, July 13. To get ready, be sure to check out the catalog here. Make a list now so you will be prepared!
That’s it! It’s really simple if you have a good strategy. Otherwise it would be like going to Disney World without a plan. xoxo – Tanya

What is the source for the Intern’s gold bangle. And her dress? TY
Hello!
Victoria’s dress is from Zara. The bracelet is http://www.mercimamanboutique.com
Hope this helps!
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
Tanya up here in Seattle our Nordstrom clerks call us ahead for appointments Also around now we get to see look books
the look books by dept this is super critical imo.
So I look at the book first place an order at that time especially for superhot items
We do that as well. The catalog is a HUGE help. I mark up the pages in advance of early shopping days.
That way I have a game plan.
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
Cute Baylor KKG!!!
She’s adorable!
Victoria is adorable and what fun to have her assistance for the summer! Depending on Nordstrom card level (annual spend!) access may be earlier – mine’s July 12th, I’m sure yours is even sooner. I’ve never had a strategy for the sale, but I’m reading and learning from you! Off I go to circle catalogue items of interest to text to my darling personal shopper, Ashley.
Love your blog, by the way. Your style and presentation are the best.
