Chambray shirtdress (old) similar here and here / GiGi New York Jenni Saddle Bag in grey c/o / Silver slides / Shinola watch / Hermes bracelets / Sunglasses

Happy Monday! We’ve just returned from NYC and I thought I would show you my travel look on the final day there. Our return flight got cancelled and our rebooked flight kept getting delayed. We were still in the city so we just took some extra time at lunch and strolled through SoHo. It confirmed the importance of having a good shirtdress in your wardrobe.

A good shirtdress will serve you well. It’s easy to dress up or wear casually. In this case, I wore it all day in NYC and then traveled home in it. It’s comfortable and packs well. Mine is really old and no longer available so I am linking you to several styles I just found. I decided to wear mine with these silver slides and I have to tell you that this GiGi New York saddle bag is the perfect crossbody bag. It held everything I needed and is easy to travel with. Mine is grey but the bag comes in 7 colors.

I was there for a quick work trip (shooting a fall campaign for a national retailer) and Pete decided to come with me. We had so much fun on our 48 hour getaway. Here are our trip details since many of you have asked for recommendations.

Stay: Trump SoHo Hotel. This was my 2nd time to stay at this property. It’s beautiful and a great location. My shoot was in the meatpacking district so being in SoHo was ideal. I just love this part of NYC! This time I had time to visit the spectacular spa and enjoyed the Moroccan Hammam treatment. I highly recommend it! This traditional cleansing ritual from North Africa is a common part of the culture in Morocco.  Experience a detoxifying ritual with black olive soap and a rhassoul clay mud and scalp massage.  This treatment will assist in removing impurities through a traditional kessa mitt, cleanse and detoxify from the inside out.

Eat: Aquagrill for dinner. Delicious seafood! Gradisca for dinner. Family owned Italian restaurant. The Grandmother sits in the restaurant and hand rolls the pasta every day. Be sure to try the daily pasta special. So good! Laduree for lunch. Enjoy a late lunch and wine. And of course, grab some delicious macaroons. My favorite flavor is lavender.

Do: See a broadway play/musical if you have time. We saw Hello Dolly, which just won for Best Musical Revival. Bette Midler is in the lead and she is spectacular (she won too)! Last year we saw Hamilton, which won Best Musical (and much more). So I’m 2 for 2 on my broadway show selections. I think its important to take in these great works of art and experiences.

Shop: I love just walking around and discovering new shops. Unfortunately, I don’t write these down so I can’t list them for you. But walking around SoHo, Greenwich Village and the Meatpacking District will never disappoint.

That’s it. Our quick 48 hours in NYC. Now, go get yourself a chambray shirtdress. xoxo – Tanya
