Happy November 1st! I hope you had a great Halloween and got lots of treats. Today we are going to look at the ‘Best of October’ on TanyaFoster.com. Oh, and there’s an update on the ‘Where in the World’ travel blog post. We have our anniversary trip booked and now I need your recommendations. Can you guess where we are going?
PARIS! Yep, it was the winner from this blog post and was also the location that Pete and I have never been to. Can you believe that? As much as we have traveled we’ve never done Paris. The other factors that played into this decision were 1) airfare 2) length of flights. Even though Bora Bora sounds great, I just know that I will come back stressed out leading up the holidays. I can’t deal with that much jet lag during December (we’ve done Bali – it’s really hard to recover). And in Paris, I can shop. BONUS! Also, congratulations to Gretchen Williams. She was the winner of the Gift Box for participating in the contest. Today you can help by leaving a comment with your recommendations on site seeing and restaurants.
By now you know how this works. Each month I recap the Top 5 Blog Posts on TanyaFoster.com from the previous month. How do I do this? Google analytics tracks what gets clicked on within my site and this is a leading indicator of what works on here. These are the Top 5 Blog Posts for the month of October 2017 (#1 is at the top). For your convenience, I have added the shopable links about that blog post immediately underneath the picture as well as the direct link to that blog post in case you would like to read it in its entirety. If you are new to this site, it’s a good way for you to play catch up. By the way, did you know that between this blog and all my social media, I touch over 150,000 per day?

This post did really well and while a lot of you purchased blazers, the top-selling item from this blog post were the shoes. I love them too and wear mine all the time. So comfortable!

So I take it you all really like the collage blog posts. Good, I like compiling them! I don’t know if you know this but they take me FOREVER. This is where I wish I had more technical and creative skills on the computer. There are some really good finds on here for under $50. Take a second look!

One thing to say about Paris in December….warm clothes!! I’m sure it will be beautiful! But…when you do decide to go to Tahiti, check out The Paul Gauguin cruise and fly to LA, spend the night , get up early for the 8 hour flight to Tahiti. It’s a breeze, really! Ok back to Paris, first day ,take a personal tour to get your bearings . Then Realize that you prolly won’t see everything you want and that this will be your first trip , but not the last. !!!! And take a whole day just to wander the streets. Very exciting!!
Thank you Cher. Yes, I am ordering lots of warm, winter clothes for the trip as I plan to shoot while I’m there.
Thanks for the travel tips!
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
Oh, if you’re not staying at The GeorgeV, go there for something, dinner, lunch, cocktails, spa. The lobby itself is so gorgeous with Jeff Langham (sp) flower arrangements. A must see! Sorry! I get beyond excited about Paris!
Cher,
Great tip!
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
Grace and I went and enjoyed the sites, but a few things stood out:
1. Cooking class at La Cuisine Paris-we took a crepe cooking class
2. Dinner on Bustronome (glass topped bus that drives you around the sites and wines and feeds you)
3. Dinner near Notre Dame that was the perfect cold weather food-very French country. They cooked our lamb kebabs over an open fire. La Petit Chatelet
4. Tea at Angelina’s
5. Macarons at Pierre Hermes
6. Le Relais de l’Entrecote for the best steak and fries. Not posh, but definitely an establishment!
Enjoy!
Three must sees in The Louvre: Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa, and Winged Victory. Then, to the Notre Dame cathedral and the beautiful stained glass windows. Walks along the Seine. So beautiful. So much to see and do. Enjoy!!
Don’t miss Sainte Chapelle! Small gothic chapel near Notre Dame that will absolutely take your breath away. Go super early to the Louvre …. you will stay longer than you think! A train ride out to Versailles is worth it. The gardens are lovely.
The Dior Exhibit and the YSL museum!
From Pam Denesuk!
Go to Le Marais District (3 and 4 Arrondissements) for a glimpse of Parisienne life without the tourists! Any bistro on any corner will warm your heart and tummy!❤️
