Spa entrance - Lake Austin Spa Resort

I know travel looks a bit different these days due to Covid-19. While I miss jumping on a plane and heading to another country, I’ve made the most of it with local travel. Laura and I just got back from a little retreat to a luxury spa in Texas and it was so beautiful and relaxing that we literally forgot where we were. Lake Austin Spa Resort has just completed a major renovation and we’re excited to share our magnificent stay with you.

This beautiful resort sits on 19 secluded lakefront acres and is the all-inclusive luxury you are looking for! We arrived at Lake Austin Spa Resort and enjoyed check-in freshly squeezed juice mocktails, a quick tour and then headed to our beautiful room. We shared a room with two beds because our intention was to do some R&R as well as brainstorm a bit for the blog/social media. I’ve been to this spectacular resort before with Pete for a couples trip (check out the details here) as well as another time for a girls trip. This time it was just Laura and me. My point is, Lake Austin Spa Resort is a fabulous choice for corporate retreats, girlfriends, couples, family gatherings or just alone time. There are only 40 rooms so think of it as a small boutique hotel/resort.

You can rest assured that they have adapted and are fully following Covid-19 compliance. Face masks are required when entering the main building. All staff are wearing face masks too. Hand sanitation stations are everywhere and housekeeping serviced during your stay are suspended unless you request them. This is in order to have the least contact possible during your stay. While the dining hall remains open (indoor and outdoor dining), you can also request that meals be delivered to your room. They also have a To-Go option which gives you the ability to order you meal, pick it up in a picnic basket and enjoy it anywhere on the property. This helps with social distancing and keeping everyone safe. You do not have to wear a face mask outside, while eating or during activities (unless you want to).

All rooms offer lakefront view and are newly redesigned with gorgeous decor and modern bathrooms. We relaxed the first evening with a glorious three course gourmet dinner and then headed to the yoga dock to do an IG LIVE. This is how we revealed where we were. Although we had the best of intentions, our WiFi at the dock wasn’t the best so we moved as we were broadcasting. This gave us the opportunity to show off the property a bit before it got dark. You can view the IGTV here. You can also see it at the very bottom of this post. Be sure to watch to the end when we freak out about the toad that was near us! 🙂

We aggressively approached the next day and started with a 2.5 mile Hill Country hike after having breakfast delivered to our room. The advantage of this is that we enjoyed coffee in our pajamas on our porch overlooking the beautiful lake. While there are endless activities (all included) to chose from, we settled on taking an exercise class next in the Treehouse Studio. The DaVinci Body Board class is only 30 minutes but it kicked our booty! Thank goodness we booked our spa services in advance. A massage and facial were greatly appreciated after lunch. The spa is fully functional and all services are being offered at this time, however the common areas such as sauna and steam room are closed. Obviously due to Covid-19, people can not gather in these locations.

Our 3-day retreat continued with a private water meditation class in the indoor pool (Barn Pool). Our meditation specialist stayed on the side of the pool while Laura and I learned to settle in silence, be still and quiet our minds. This was all done through breathing prompts and gentle commands. We had the best nights sleep after that! Not to mention a fantastic dinner outside while listening to a singer on the dock. Pure bliss!

The fact that you can walk around in the lush, white robes provided in your room was an added bonus. In fact, the only clothes we needed were our casual travel outfits, workout clothes, swimsuits and pajamas (see below). You can actually dine in your plush white robe if you want to. Mostly, we were in our exercise clothes or shorts/tee. The food is exceptional! Lake Austin Spa Resort has its own organic garden and the cuisine is locally sourced. Chef Stéphane Beaucamp prepares each meal serving smaller portions to fit the spa environment. Don’t worry, no one went hungry. You can order as much as you want. There are chef-lead cooking classes too. We loved eating inside in the dining room but mostly enjoyed our meals outside because of the beautiful lakeside view.

I indulged in the 50-minute Organic Aroma-Therapeutic Massage followed by the 50-minute “C” The Difference Anti-Aging Facial.  I’m not sure what really happened as I fell asleep during both treatments but I can assure you that I returned to my room a new person. Also, my skin was glowing from the anti-aging skincare products used during my facial. It included a professional Alpha Beta peel. The spa lounge area where you wait for your services is absolutely divine!

Lake Austin Spa Resort is simply heaven. It’s an all-inclusive resort with every detail taken care of. There is absolutely no reason to leave the compound. You’re in 19 acres of Hill Country bliss. I highly recommend you give it a try for a couples trip, girlfriend retreat and simply some alone time to recharge your batteries. Oftentimes they run specials so be sure to check their site often. Be sure to tell them I sent you!

xoxo – Tanya
